Soraya was among the first Afghan women to lead peaceful protests for women’s rights after the fall of Kabul in 2021, risking both Taliban persecution and domestic violence. After fleeing to Pakistan, she gave birth to her daughter, Sahar, who has Bardet-Biedl syndrome and requires ongoing specialised medical care. Soraya arrived in Canada in 2023 and is now rebuilding her life.

Together with a partnering church, Task Force Nyx is raising $44,000 with an initial goal of $10,000 to sponsor her parents and three younger siblings to join her in Canada. Your donation will help reunite this family, provide educational opportunities for her 12-, 14- and 17-year-old siblings, and ensure vital support for Soraya and Sahar as they build a safe future together.
