OUR STORY

Task Force Nyx partners with global human rights defenders in the service of advocacy, emergency protection, and access to dignified third-country resettlement and asylum. These courageous individuals lead our strategy, inform our priorities, and guide our advocacy efforts. Additionally, we harness our expertise to tackle challenges within the global protection ecosystem, providing standardization and best practices to peer organizations and cooperating governments. We chose our name in honor of the Greek goddess Nyx, embodiment of the night, and known to be so powerful that Zeus himself feared her.

We are committed to raising standards across every aspect of the global protection ecosystem, from identification and vetting to case management and resettlement support. We share and collaborate with peer organizations to advocate on behalf of at-risk defenders.

We take a trauma-informed approach to our work with vulnerable individuals and families, recognizing both the short- and long-term impacts of violence and trauma. We aim to bring compassion and dignity to every interaction.
