Support Eleni, Vasilis and Theo

Hi friends,

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. You may (or may not) be surprised to see that I will be running my first marathon, in Abu Dhabi, December 17th, alongside (or rather far behind!) Vasilis who will be running his 5th one and our friend Theo!

We decided to support a great cause that can have a life changing impact and each one of you can play a significant part no matter what your contribution might be.

Asra and Sadra Mansour are two little Afghan girls who both suffer from Beta Thalassemia Major, a severe genetic disorder requiring regular blood transfusions and specialized healthcare not available in Afghanistan. Their Father bravely supported the UK Mission in Afghanistan, saving the lives of his colleagues, surviving a suicide attack and being held hostage by the Taliban. Sadly, this family are not currently eligible for Afghan resettlement schemes.

Our friend Laura who has dedicated the last 6 years of her life working in the global refugee crisis is raising funds to support the girls’ private cost of medical care in the UK. Laura will pay for all of the family’s relocation costs to the UK and the Mansour’s will be living with Laura and her beautiful family while they apply for permanent status.

These girls can have a near normal expectancy and a substantially improved quality of life with access to medical care. Donations can be made here in USD (and are tax deductible for US donors). Please contact me for a UK charity for donations in GBP.

We know there are so many worthy causes deserving of support and that everyone’s financial circumstances differ.
